Financial Reporting Assistant
The Financial Reporting Assistant supports accurate and timely financial operations across multiple areas, including payments, expense tracking, and foreign transaction reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining up-to-date financial and asset records, managing depreciation costs, and ensuring daily financial reports are shared with relevant departments. The assistant also prepares weekly summaries on financial activity and performance trends, verifies that all financial records align, and ensures compliance with external reporting requirements such as those set by the Central Bank of Aruba. Regular collaboration with other departments is key to ensuring the accuracy of financial data and reports.
The Financial Reporting Assistant must have knowledge of accounting and financial balancing processes. This position requires strong organizational and planning skills to manage daily tasks effectively, as well as the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. The assistant should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Professional requirements:
- EPI degree in Finance or Accounting or
- HAVO degree with minimum 2 years' experience in accounting and balance with a basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Exceptional communication skills: Fluent in English, Dutch and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Capable of communicating financial information clearly across departments and to regulatory authorities.
- Analytical and Organizational skills: Able to work with financial data to spot inconsistencies or unusual patterns. Shows good attention to detail and can stay organized when handling multiple tasks.
- Confidentiality and Adaptability: Maintains the highest standards of professional integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information. Open to learning new processes and adaptable to changes in regulatory guidelines, reporting requirements, and internal procedures.
- Time Management: Able to organize daily work effectively to meet strict deadlines. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Advanced PC proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint to efficiently communicate and access information within the bank.
