Auditor – Caribbean Mercantile Bank N.V.
Role Overview
The Auditor is responsible for executing internal audit activities within the Bank's scope, focusing on assessing the design and effectiveness of internal controls. This involves conducting comprehensive audits to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies. Acting as Officer in Charge (OIC) under the guidance of the Senior Audit Manager, the Auditor will identify risks, evaluate control frameworks, and provide actionable recommendations to improve governance, risk management, and internal control systems.
The Auditor will work closely with the Senior Audit Manager and is expected to independently initiate and lead audit projects of moderate to high complexity as the OIC. In addition, they will assist the Senior Audit Manager in fulfilling key responsibilities and ensuring the successful execution of audit initiatives.
Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Business Administration/Accountancy or Management).
- Certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor or commitment to acquire a CIA qualification; CISA or ACAMs certification is an asset.
- Minimum three years' experience in Accounting / Auditing with a focus on internal auditing or related fields within the banking sector.
Candidate Profile
- Expert communication skills including fluency in English, Dutch & Papiamento in writing and speech.
- Thorough knowledge of audit processes and methodologies relevant to both financial and non-financial.
- Knowledge of internal control frameworks, financial reporting processes, operational auditing and strong understanding of regulations and their application in audit processes.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Consistent display of high standard of performance, confidentiality, integrity, timeliness and efficiency.
- Expert PC skills using common software tools to access and communicate within the Bank (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
