Responsibilities
- Monitor staff attendance and grooming every day
- Review staffing requirements and hand out job assignments
- Review logbook, VIP report and group activities
- Hold pre-shift meetings as needed
- Monitor staff throughout shift ensuring that all employees abide to hotel rules and regulations
- Check work stations for cleanliness and organization
- Go through the Supervisors checklist, prioritize duties and follow up on all pending issues
- Check all equipment for optimum functioning, e.g. telephones, computers, etc.
- Make appropriate work orders for any malfunction and follow up on both department and guest work orders with Engineering
- Make all necessary forms for employee payroll when needed
- Report all undesirable visitors in your department and hotel immediately to security
- Report all guest/employee accidents/injuries promptly and following hotel procedures
- Train and orient all new employees
- Train all employees on Standard of Performance
- Monitor staff performance, coach, counsel and discipline employees consistently and fair when needed
- Give an accept employee feedback and follow up on suggestions, concerns and actions to be taken
- Assume employee responsibilities in case of illness, etc.
- Assistant Head Bartender
- Assures that all bar policies and procedures are followed in order to provide proper service to customers
- Review beverage cost
- Take once a month inventory of working equipment
- Do a beverage inventory with Cost Controller on a monthly basis
- Establish and check pars
- Distribute and discuss special events and promotions calendar
- Assist and control the Bartenders beverage requisitions
- Check house count and review catering activities
- Talk to guests to inquire about the service and beverage quality
- Establish and monitor garnishes
- Develop a recipe list for the one hundred most popular drinks
- Check sound and lighting
- Check on beverage coupons, guest who are not on the all-inclusive plan
- Maintain security for both open and closed bars
- Follow Alcohol Awareness guidelines for dealing with intoxicated guests
- Turn in Food & Beverage checklist on a daily basis to the Food & Beverage Manager
- Be familiar with the property’s fire and emergency program
- Any other reasonable duties as required
Requirements and Qualifications
- EPI/MBO Diploma or a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bartender
- Bartender Diploma
- Fluent in English, Spanish and Dutch
- 25 years and up
- Great Computer skills
- Service oriented
- Has great suggestive (up)selling skills
- Follow food safety and HACCP guidelines
- Has a valid Health card
- Has a Dutch Passport or a valid work permit
