Job brief

As an Accountant your main duties are to maintain and compile financial reports and statements in compliance with government regulations and requirements. While growing in client interactions and account sizes, the accountant will analyze balance sheets, manage general ledger accounts, update financial statements, maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable, pay monthly payroll, and prepare financial reports. 

Main duties and responsibilities

• Posting journal entries, updating financial statements, maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable, calculating payroll taxes, and preparing financial reports
• Perform customer intakes as well as maintaining contact with our customers
• Analyzing complex financial reports
• Advice clients on fiscal and economically related matters and provide administrative support
• Carry out monthly close activities, including analytical reviews, reconciliation of balance sheet and accruals
• Making recommendations based on analysis, the status of reserves, assets and expenses
• Assist managing engagements
• Assist account manager with financial statement presentation

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree. Relevant work experience is highly appreciated.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• A high degree of autonomy and responsibility with regard to quality and timeliness processing of administrative data and completion of reports
• Experience with independently compiling annual reports and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks is a plus
• A positive attitude with excellent communication and social skills
• Strong language skills (spoken and written) in Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamento
