PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Security Officer working at Port/Barcadera you are responsible for keeping the port premises and perimeters safe and secure with the highest level of security and integrity by enforcing internal, local & international rules, guidelines, and legislation. Your primary duties will entail surveillance, security checks, patrolling the port premises and perimeters, monitoring the premises via camera surveillance, report any unusual/suspicious activity or security breach, and prepare relevant reports. In the event of an emergency you will be the first to respond. The security department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

QUALIFICATIONS

Prospective candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Possess at least a MAVO diploma or similar
• Strong and authoritative character
• Adhere to the highest level of integrity and confidentiality
• Able to take lead according to procedures in all cases
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Good verbal and written skills in English, Dutch, Papiamento, and Spanish
• Hands-on mentality
• Flexibility to work in a shift environment
• Willingness to work weekend, holidays and occasional overtime
• ISPS Certification is a plus
• CPR/AED is a plus
• Fire safety certification is a plus
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a security officer position is a plus
• Age 21 years old to 48 years old
• Must be able to pass a VDA screening
• Must be able to pass a drug test
