On behalf of our client, a wholesale and retail in Bakery Supplies, we are looking for a Sales Associate to join the team.

Hard Skills:

Customer Engagement:

 Greet and welcome guests upon arrival to ensure a positive first impression.

 Actively engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend or direct the customer to the appropriate products or services based on their needs and preferences.

 Have good understanding of the products, promotions, and the competition.

Product Knowledge:

 Answer questions regarding all products and services to communicate effectively with customers.

 Maintain superior knowledge of products to confidently assist customers.

Inventory:

 Keep the store organized and visually appealing through effective store and item displays.

 Restock products as needed and maintain proper stock levels using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.

Sales and Cash Transactions:

 Process transactions accurately and manage cash handling in compliance with company procedures.

 Input customer data into the company database to support customer loyalty initiatives.

Order Management:

 Ensure timely delivery of customer orders and keep accurate records as necessary.

 Ensure items are ordered in a timely manner.

Administrative Tasks:

 Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls to provide excellent communication.

 Document and report on sales activities and customer interactions accurately to provide insights for strategy development.

Information Technology:

 Utilize office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for document preparation and data management.

 Utilize accounting software, specifically QuickBooks, to manage financial tasks.

 Proficient in Excel and the MS Office Suite for data analysis and reporting.

Competitor Analysis:

 Monitor local competitors and identify market trends to enhance product offerings and sales.

Soft Skills:

Customer Service:

 Provide exceptional customer service by exceeding client expectations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues effectively, and enhancing the overall shopping experience.

 Treat all customers with politeness and respect, regardless of the situation.

Communication Skills:

 Communicate effectively with customers and team members.

 When on the phone with a customer, use active listening skills to understand their needs and deliver the answers and services they require.

Academic Qualifications and Experience required for position

 Minimum MAVO diploma or equivalent is required.

 Proven experience in retail or sales is preferred.

 Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset.

 Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.

 Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

 Is detail-oriented and capable of noticing small errors on orders or defective aspects of products.

 Strong communication skills in English, Papiamento, Spanish and Dutch.

 Familiarity with QuickBooks is an advantage.

 Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

 Physical ability to lift items up to 25kg.
