Responsibilities

  • Monitor security team attendance and grooming daily
  • Review security team requirements and handout job assignments
  • Review all reports and follow up on pending urgent matters
  • Hold pre shift meetings as required
  • Monitor security team throughout shift that all abide to hotel rules and regulations
  • Go through head of security’s checklist, prioritize duties and follow up on all pending issues
  • Check all equipment for optimal functioning, telephones and radios
  • Make appropriate workorder for any malfunction and follow up on both department and other hotel work orders with engineering.
  • Handle all undesirable visitors on the hotel property immediately
  • Handle all guest/ employee accidents/ injuries promptly and following hotel procedures
  • Train and orient all new security team members on job duties and hotel standards
  • Monitor security team performance
  • Give and accept employee feedback and follow up on suggestions, concerns and actions to be taken
  • Assume security team member responsibilities during absence
  • Achievement of standard within the department
  • Reviewing all standards with security team
  • Evaluate and critique compliance to standards
  • Discuss all sub- standard and/ or non- compliance to standard work with Rooms Division Manager
  • Follow up on security team trainings
  • Observe and coach security team
  • Ensure employees packages are checked
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed when administering First Aid, handling injured guests, and other hotel emergencies
  • Ensure proper follow up on suspicious persons
  • Handle news and media according to procedure in a courteous way.
  • Monitor lost and Found procedures
  • Ensure that all employees and guest issues are handled professionally
  • Take charge in any emergency/ accident situation and inform all necessary Managers
  • Handle all cases with the police department confidentially and always ensuring procedures are followed
  • Ensure all traffic and hotel property and parking are controlled and follow the hotel rules
  • · Any other reasonable duties


Requirements and Qualifications

  • MAVO High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a security officer, and 2 years of experience in a supervisory position
  • Fluent in Papiamento and English
  • Has security training
  • Has a clean police record
  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good physical health
  • Ability to prioritize guest and employee safety needs
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions
  • Has a Dutch Passport or valid work permit
