Job Purpose
The OTC & Personal Care Brand specialist at Aventa DC is an expert in the over-the-counter and personal care product portfolio and the driving force behind its performance. They build strong relationships with both healthcare partners and retail customers, pro-actively anticipating and identifying customer needs, and delivering excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. The OTC and Personal Care Brand Specialist plays a key role in expanding Aventa DC’s market presence, while upholding company standards and regulatory compliance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy Execution: Collaborate with the Brand Manager – OTC & Personal Care and marketing team to implement and execute relevant marketing strategies — including campaign roll-outs, trade promotions, in-store events, and digital initiatives — to build brand awareness, drive product adoption, and support sales goals.
- OTC& Personal Care Portfolio Sales: Present and sell Aventa DC’s portfolio of OTC & Personal Care products to current and prospective customers, including pharmacies, retail outlets, and individual consumers.
- Sales Planning: Analyse monthly sales targets and provide feedback, develop customer-specific sales plans to meet individual and company objectives.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key personnel at pharmacies and retail outlets to support long-term customer loyalty and brand presence.
- Field Reporting: Conduct scheduled customer visits; provide written reports detailing market trends, competitor activity, sales progress, and key developments.
- Merchandising Collaboration: Work with merchandisers to set up product displays, monitor shelf presence, and ensure promotional materials are properly placed.
- Collections & Record-Keeping: Support timely collection of outstanding balances, assist with account queries, and maintain accurate records of customer transactions.
- Returns & Inventory Management: In communication with other team members - manage returns, damaged goods, and expired products per policy; monitor customer inventory levels to prevent stock issues.
- New Business Developments: Identify new business opportunities, pursue leads, and expand the customer base through outreach and relationship-building.
- Promotional Execution: Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring of promotional activities and in-store events to drive product awareness and sales.
- Market Feedback: Stay informed of Aventa DC’s product range and market conditions; provide management with feedback for product improvements or new opportunities.
- Ad Hoc Support: Undertake additional duties as needed to support organizational objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience in sales or a related field is an asset.
- Familiarity with over-the-counter (OTC) and/or personal care products and healthcare markets is a strong advantage.
- Strong verbal communication skills in Papiamentu, Dutch, and English; proficiency in Spanish is an added advantage.
- A valid driver’s license (category B) and the ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with CRM or sales tracking software is a plus.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic, growing company.
