Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Sideloader Driver to join our growing transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport, loading, and unloading of shipping containers using a sideloader truck. This is a hands-on role suited to a confident operator who takes pride in delivering exceptional service to our customers while upholding strict compliance with road and workplace safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

•    Safely operate a sideloader truck to transport 20ft and 40ft shipping containers to and from customer sites, ports, and depots.

•    Independently load and unload containers using the sideloader crane system, ensuring correct positioning and secure placement.

•    Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns promptly.

•    Verify shipping documentation, container numbers, seals, and consignment details prior to pickup and delivery.

•    Plan and follow efficient delivery routes in accordance with daily schedules and customer requirements.

•    Communicate professionally with dispatch, depot staff, and customers throughout each job.

•    Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, proof of delivery (POD) documentation, and electronic work diaries where applicable.

•    Keep the assigned vehicle clean, well-maintained, and presented in line with company standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

•    Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience operating a sideloader truck in a commercial transport environment.

•    Valid Driver's License C + E

•    Current Sideloader operator certification or demonstrated competency in sideloader operations.

•    Strong knowledge of container handling procedures, load restraint guidelines, and chain of responsibility legislation.

•    Proven ability to safely manoeuvre heavy vehicles in tight, confined, or congested customer sites.

•    Solid understanding of fatigue management and work diary requirements.
