The job:

The Buyer is the commercial and analytical 'spider in the web' with regard to the assortment groups of the relevant department and acts as an internal point of contact for this. You work independently and know everything about the purchasing process.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

•  Ensures effective and efficient assortment selection and management, including by analyzing qualitative and quantitative product data.

•  Performs cost and sales price calculations independently.

•  Takes care of the entire ordering process, including placing orders, monitoring and ensures correct compliance with internal rules and guidelines.

•  Performs inventory and sales analysis independently

•  Maintains contacts with (potential) suppliers, customs and other stakeholders.

•  Requests quotes and contributes to the supplier selection process.

•  Prepare reports, numerical overviews, letters and other documents.

•  Contributes to the preparation or further development and optimization of relevant internal procedures.

•  Follow directions and instructions and adopt knowledge, insights and decisions from superior.

•  Stimulating good mutual communication and cooperation.

•  Consultation/coordination with the immediate supervisor and colleagues regarding the daily work execution.

•  Discussing deviating situations/details and making recommendations.

•  Speaks to suppliers in a correct manner.

Requirements:

•  At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.

•  Experience in a supermarket, wholesaler or similar is an advantage.

•  Preferably 1 or more years of experience as a regular buyer

•  Experience with placing orders.

•  Experience with inventory management

•  Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management or related field

•  Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and Store Management Suite

•  Proficient in English and Dutch. Papiamento and Spanish is an advantage
