R&D Specialist

Mission of the role

As R&D Specialist you play a key role in driving product development and innovation by supporting the development, reformulation and continuous improvement of high-quality cosmetic products from concept through commercialization.

Key accountabilities

Product Development

• Support the development, reformulation and continuous improvement of cosmetic products.
• Assist with formulation development, laboratory testing and product evaluations.
• Research new ingredients, technologies and product concepts.
• Contribute to successful new product development projects.

Laboratory & Technical Support

• Prepare laboratory batches and conduct stability, compatibility and performance testing.
• Record, analyze and report laboratory results.
• Support investigations into product quality and manufacturing issues.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, materials and records.

Manufacturing Support

• Support Production with formulation, processing and manufacturing deviations.
• Prepare reprocess instructions for production batches when required.

Documentation & Regulatory Support

• Maintain accurate and complete R&D documentation.
• Prepare technical documentation for regulatory compliance in Aruba and export markets.
• Review product artwork for technical and regulatory accuracy when required.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate assigned R&D activities and monitor project timelines.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Identify and implement improvements to R&D processes, documentation and ways of working.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree (HBO) or MBO+ in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Technology, or a related field
• Equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered

Experience

• Experience in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, chemical, or personal care product development is an advantage

Technical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Dutch, Papiamento, and/or Spanish are an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical software systems
• Knowledge of cosmetic regulations, GMP, and technical documentation is an advantage
