About the vacancy

The University of Aruba is a young university and consists of four faculties, namely the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Accounting, Finance & Marketing, the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management Studies and the Faculty of Arts and Science. These faculties are supported by the offices & centers, of which one is the Center of Lifelong Learning (CLL). CLL is mainly responsible for the coordination regarding the activities and goals of the University's Center of Lifelong Learning.

 

COORDINATOR CENTER OF LIFELONG LEARNING

(1.0 fte)

Brief job description:

- You are responsible for coordinating the department and its employees (1.5 fte);

- Create, plan and implement Lifelong Learning activities, including lectures, courses and conferences, showcase lifelong learning program developments & innovation;

- You will coordinate and monitor the entire process surrounding CLL activities. In this you have both an operational and an advising role;

- Establish and implement processes for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of CLL programs;

- Continue to develop and implement a strategic plan for the CLL, aligned with the University's overall mission and strategic goals;

- You will be responsible for marketing activities in cooperation with other departments;

- You are the budget holder for your department;

- You are responsible for internal and external communication;

- You oversee and monitor the internal processes and identify areas for improvement in them;

- You act as a community learning consultant both internal and external as a Cross department collaboration between faculties and departments;

- You anticipate on market trends and technology relating to learning activities;

- Maintain and expand the network of the University.


Job requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree;

• A minimum of 3 years of management experience in a leadership role and preferably within Higher Education;

• Experience with strategic planning & implementation

• Experience in program development & innovation (R&D);

• Experience in budget management & financial reconciliations;

• Excellent verbal and written command of the English, Papiamento and Dutch language; Spanish is a plus;

• Experience with various learning & communication platforms and social media such as (MailChimp, Coursera, stone, Canva, LinkedIn etc.);

• Excellent IT-skills specifically in MS Office & Google (such as Word, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Mail etc.).
