Responsibilities

Daily & Weekly Operations

• Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow reports.
• Maintain daily/weekly bank reconciliations and monitor bank accounts.
• Respond to bank, audit (BDO), and internal financial inquiries.
• Supervise daily accounting activities and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide operational coverage during staff absences across accounting, payroll, revenue audit, and cashiering functions.
• Train and cross‑train accounting staff and interns across all accounting functions, including Revenue, AP, AR, Payroll, and Sales systems.

Month‑End & Year‑End Close

• Prepare and post journal entries for month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Review general ledger postings and financial statements; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure timely completion of monthly preliminary financials and final close deadlines.
• Reconcile balance sheets monthly (target completion by the 25th).
• Assist department managers with financial data and explanations.
• Support preparation of management reports, GM reports, and financial comparisons.
• Prepare and submit monthly tax billings and required tax filings.
• Conduct month‑end inventory spot checks as required.

Sales Administration Oversight

• Oversee local Sales Administration accounting support.
• Review daily sales‑related correspondence and inquiries.
• Provide daily bank balance reporting to leadership.
• Monitor, respond to, and coordinate chargeback disputes in a timely manner.

Cash Flow & Payables

• Prepare cash flow reports for sales entities on a weekly basis.
• Process payroll transfers and payables in the accounting system.
• Prepare and upload vendor payments and bank transfers.
• Coordinate internal bank transfers to ensure sufficient funds for payables and taxes.
• Provide AP and payroll coverage support when needed.

Projects & Leadership Support

• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Support development of management and operational reports.
• Participate in system upgrades, software implementations, and process improvements.
• Assist in maintaining internal controls and accounting policies in line with legislation and best practices.
• Assume Financial Controller responsibilities during periods of absence.
• Perform other finance‑related duties as assigned by the Financial Controller or management.

Requirements and Qualifications

• HBO Diploma preferred, with 1 year of experience in a similar position
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Ability to supervise, train, and support accounting team members
• Effective communication skills and ability to work across departments
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Eagerness to learn and pursue continued professional development in finance or accounting
• Fluent in English and Dutch
• Good communication and computer skills
• Has a Dutch passport or valid work permit
