Engineering Maintenance Helper

About the vacancy
Basic Function:
Help perform regular maintenance tasks on bottling equipment, such as conveyors, filling machines, and labeling machines. Assist in lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of machinery parts to ensure smooth operation. Help with the repair or replacement of damaged or worn-out machine parts under the supervision of skilled technicians or engineers.
Specific Responsibilities:
Aid in identifying and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems with plant equipment.
Help with the repair or replacement of damaged or worn-out machine parts under the supervision of skilled technicians or engineers.
Assist in conducting preventive maintenance activities to avoid breakdowns and prolong equipment lifespan.
Document and report any potential issues or abnormal observations during routine checks.
Support the use and proper handling of tools and equipment required for maintenance, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeters, and other diagnostic devices.
Help maintain the inventory of tools and spare parts required for maintenance work.
Follow safety protocols when assisting with repairs and maintenance.
Ensure the maintenance area is clean, organized, and free from hazards during and after maintenance work.
Help in recording maintenance activities and maintaining accurate logs of repairs, inspections, and parts used.
Assist in keeping the engineering team updated on the status of equipment and any maintenance issues encountered.
Provide general support to engineers and technicians during major repairs, upgrades, and installations.
Carry out tasks as directed, including moving equipment, gathering tools, or holding parts in place.
Assist in responding to machinery breakdowns or bottling line stoppages by quickly providing support during emergency repairs.
Help keep the maintenance workshop and work area tidy and well-organized to avoid unnecessary accidents or delays.
This role is fundamental in ensuring that bottling plants continue operating smoothly, minimizing downtime, and maintaining efficiency across production lines.
General Responsibilities:
Be a good team player, willing and able to assist with other operational tasks when necessary.
Conduct yourself in a professional manner always, being a good representative of TBC/BNB.
Attend all required meetings & training sessions.
Ensure and maintain a neat and organized workplace always.
Be responsible for working in a hygienic manner always.
Report any irregularity immediately concerning the environment, safety, quality, and food quality to Superior.
Report any (near) accidents and unsafe situations/actions to Superior immediately.
Assist in performing tasks of colleagues and perform their duties during their absence as instructed by Superior.
Participate actively in the cross-training program as per the Cross-Training Chart.
Maintain good working relations and good communication with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Comply with the procedures and instructions as stipulated in the Employee Handbook and the IMS manual of TBC/BNB.
Adhere to the guidelines and procedures concerning environment, safety, quality, and food safety.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, such as gloves, helmets, or safety glasses.
Correct use of equipment, machines, means of transport, and tools present, including safety measures.
Compliance with the valid procedures and regulations on jobs/locations.
Use personal protection material as regulated by TBC/BNB or when instructed by the supervisor.
Job Profile:
Level of Education: EPB Technical
Experience: 1 - 3 years of experience in a similar position preferable. Experience within a production/manufacturing environment.
Personal Qualities & Skills:
Good communication and organizational skills.
Able to accept flexible work hours.
Initiative and motivation.
Upright and reliable / trustworthy.
Social skills.
Must be able to perform repetitive motions, including bending, reaching, and lifting.
Operating basic tools and electrical tools is essential.
Basic math skills.
Knowledge of Papiamento, English, and Dutch.
