About the vacancy
The Recreation Manager is responsible for managing the operations of recreation and all recreation activities within the hotel.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage team members to ensure high motivation, provision of high-quality service
- Assign tasks to the management team.
- Recruit, manage, train, and develop the staff.
- Send out monthly reports such as the revenue and inventory reports.
- Attend different meetings e.g. Sales, Rooms, We Care, I - Palapa
- Walk the Recreation Pool and Beach areas frequently and ensure that all is clean and organized.
- Coach, guide, and motivate the team.
- Assist the team when needed in cleaning and maintaining the areas.
- Ensure that all department sanitation standards/protocols are done correctly by the staff.
- Will inspect the areas together with the staff before the staff leaves.
- Resolve all guest issues.
- Edit and close department payroll.
- Manage I-Palapa.
- Professionally correct and compliment all Recreation staff.
- Ensure when closing daily Recreation operations all areas are clean and organized, and all equipment is secured.
- Complete the work schedule and distribute it on time to the team.
- Answer all guest’s e-mails within 24 hours.
- Update the team on all need-to-know information during pre-shifts.
- Will handle other administrative duties.
- Process purchase orders.
- Keep a detailed administration of the I-palapas bookings.
- Need to respond to guest and hotel emergencies and complete incident reports.

- Refined verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Computer skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Team player.
- Task-driven and result-oriented.
- Ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Able to follow up and resolve escalated complaints.
- Able to work outdoors for a long period of time and must be hands-on.
- Able to work flexible shifts (long hours when needed), including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard Certification preferred.
