About the vacancy
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to join our leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of resort operations, ensuring seamless, efficient, and guest-focused service delivery across all departments, including Food & Beverage, Rooms Division, Engineering, and more. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience, maintaining operational excellence, and driving our commitment to sustainability in line with Forbes Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Ensure compliance with all operational policies, procedures, and environmental certifications. Continuously monitor and improve operational efficiency across departments.
- Strategic Planning: Assist in developing and executing departmental strategic plans, fostering interdepartmental collaboration to achieve resort-wide goals.
- Team Management: Lead, train, and develop managers and supervisors across various operational departments. Conduct performance evaluations and promote a culture of excellence, teamwork, and motivation.
- Guest Engagement: Engage directly with guests to gather feedback, resolve issues, and implement improvements. Monitor guest satisfaction through surveys and online reviews, ensuring a superior guest experience.
- Innovation & Technology: Stay ahead of industry trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Collaborate with the Sustainability Manager to lead the resort’s sustainability strategy, focusing on reducing carbon emissions and achieving environmental certification goals.
- Cost Control: Oversee cost control measures across all departments, ensuring efficient resource management, waste reduction, and loss prevention.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all safety and emergency procedures are current, compliant, and effectively communicated to staff. Oversee the upkeep of facilities and the scheduling of preventive maintenance.
- Leadership & Representation: Act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Resort Manager. Represent the resort at industry events, supporting the brand and marketing strategies.
- A Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or Tourism.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within hotel operations, with strong exposure to high-end Rooms and Food & Beverage operations.
- Proven leadership qualities with a track record of successfully managing and motivating teams.
- Strong hospitality, sales, and customer service experience; you are a natural host.
- Professional appearance with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Previous experience in a Forbes-rated property is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
